Be safe and move fast with StrokeHolder F.A.S.T.
The typical stroke lasts 10 hours, and the number of neurons in the human forebrain can exceed 22 billion. Untreated, stroke kills around 1.9 million neurons every minute. The more of them are destroyed, the lower are the chances for survival and the patient's ability to return to their regular lifestyle.
50%
Strokes are a leading cause of serious long-term disability. A stroke reduces mobility for more than half of all stroke survivors aged 65 and over.

Every year, more than 795,000 people in the United States have a stroke. About 610,000 of these are first or new strokes.

Developed by
a NIR Doctor

Operating an awake patient has significant proven benefits, however, during the surgery, complete patient immobilization is hard to achieve. So, I invented a device that will considerably shorten the radiological diagnosis timeframe from the moment the patient arrives at the hospital till the intervention application ends.

Head Restraint Assembly

Head restraint assembly is a two-part tightening mechanism that secures the head from all sides. The bilateral cheek, frontal and parietal pads are secured on the scalp and cheeks using velcro belts — restraints for increased head contact with the holder.
Facial straps are cinched tightly, ensuring stability and head immobility
Adjustment knobs help regulate the restraints, easing them inward

Oxygen Supply

Cheek pads will hold oxygen masks, with or without a non-rebreather, over a patient's airways. They have special notches to accommodate and secure oxygen supply cannulas.

Body Platform
and Restraint Straps

1
Winglet Component
A winglet is an interchangeable accessory device for immobilizing a patient's upper extremities in a desired angulation and position for either brachial or radial vessel access.
2
Body Platform
The body platform can be used with and without a foot platform, depending on the procedural need for immobilizing the entire lower extremity or a patient's body size.
3
Adjustable Restraint Straps
Used to secure and immobilize a patient's chest, body, and other extremities as needed for the procedure.
4
Foot Platform
The platform extension accessory is adjusted to suit a patient's height and weight. It also has a handle between the shins, which helps immobilize both feet separately.

Foam & Straps Material

Single-use foam material is used for soft padding in the body platform
Straps are used to secure the patient's chest, body, and extremities as needed
Platform parts are made from extra-durable plastic materials which are completely radiolucent for use under X-rays. All parts that are designed to be in contact with a patient's skin — pads and belts — are made from extra soft, quality fabric, are hypoallergenic, and are disposable.

NIH Stroke Scale

The memory foam insert pad in the body platform cover serves as soft and comfortable padding that also provides an individual board to be filled out by providers in the Emergency Department or elsewhere the patient is examined.

The scores get summed. The higher the NIHSS score, the more severe the stroke. The body platform comes with its own memory foam insert pad.

Winglet Component

The winglet has an octagonal contour joint with the body board and a self-locking property, utilizing the pressure from the patient's weight on the body board.

4 different body positions or angulations depending on the technical needs of the endovascular medical intervention.
The Winglet is fully side-interchangeable — can be positioned on either side of the patient, enabling to choose the best side and angle of the upper extremity arterial access. This allows for better surgical dexterity.
A winglet foam pad can be used to position the wrist for radial artery access
The winglet can be used for either the left or the right-side upper extremity

TummiTuker

TummiTuker is a single-use accessory device to StrokeHolder, designed to help with groin access for morbidly obese patients. It helps expose the patient's crotch by pulling up and safely securing the soft pannus tissue away from the groin.
Concave contour
allowing maximum contact with obese patients' protruding abdominal wall soft tissues.
Adhesive surface
inside, which is accessed by peeling off the transparent film. It's gentle on the skin and easy to peel off after use.
3 tension belts
secured in place using velcro endings, are pulled against the side holes of the body platform and chest belt.

Mobility Stand

StrokeHolder Stand is developed to store, transfer and help refurbish the device before use in the hospital. It can be rolled with ease to any location.
The numbers on the boxes point to the location of specific areas where the belt and memory pad sets are stored. After use, they're replaced with a new set.
